| Description | The Road Crash Rescue course is a nationally accredited course that is designed to provide students with the essential knowledge and skills to allow them to respond to vehicle collisions as a member of an emergency response team, across a variety of industries. |

| Purpose | The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary knowledge and technical skills to extricate entrapped casualty/s from vehicles travelling on the road such as cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks and semi-trailers while minimising the potential for further injury and preserving the integrity of evidence. This unit requires the responder to access entrapped casualty/s using a range of techniques and to operate specialist equipment to undertake the rescue. |

| Assessment Requirements | The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises. |

| Delivery Mode | Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards. |

| Materials or Equipment Required | Students must wear long sleeve shirt, long pants and steel cap boots. |
