OFA - Occupational First Aid Skill Set

This course reflects the skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance; use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council and; establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace.

COST: $500 per person

On successful completion of this course you will be issued a Certificate in:
- HLTSS00027 Occupational first aid skill set
which consists of the following units of competency:
- HLTAID006 Provide advanced first aid
- HLTAID007 Provide advanced resuscitation
- HLTAID008 Manage first aid services and resources

Occupational first aid provides participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in the workplace.

Who is this course recommended for?
• Workplace first aiders, or those responsible for first aid rooms and facilities; and
• Those who wish to complete a HLT31215 Certificate III in Basic Health Care or HLT41115 Certificate IV in Health Care.

3 days (3 x 8hr periods, plus pre-reading & exercises)

Prior knowledge/competency in basic first aid/CPR at the discretion of the trainer/booking staff.

Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are:
- Writing is required to the level of completing written assessments.
- Numeracy is required to enable the determination of similar activities.

The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises.
While the training for the enrolled units is delivered concurrently, each Unit of Competency is assessed as a discrete unit.
Students who are deemed competent will receive a Statement of Attainment recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. This certification is nationally recognised. The Statement is issued by Riklan Emergency Management Services (RTO 51994)

Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

Students must wear enclosed shoes.

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit.
