| Description | This course reflects the skills and knowledge to provide advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance; use specialised equipment in the provision of resuscitation in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council and; establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of appropriate first aid in the workplace. | Purpose | Occupational first aid provides participants with the skills and knowledge to be able to establish, maintain and facilitate the provision of first aid in the workplace. Who is this course recommended for? |

| Duration | 3 days (3 x 8hr periods, plus pre-reading & exercises) |

| Entry Requirements | Prior knowledge/competency in basic first aid/CPR at the discretion of the trainer/booking staff. Language, literacy and numeracy requirements from the unit are: |

| Assessment Requirements | The course will be based on theoretical sessions, equipment demonstrations and practical exercises. |
||||||
| Delivery Mode | Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards. |

| Materials or Equipment Required | Students must wear enclosed shoes. |

| Notes | If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit. |
