ADV_FIRE - Advanced Fire Cluster

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary skills and practical knowledge on how to effectively respond to and extinguish fires within the surface and underground operations.Participants will gain the necessary skills and knowledge which will allow them to respond and suppress fire emergencies including how to determine extinguishing media and equipment, determine fire behaviour, how to conduct search and rescue, etc.

The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary skills and
practical knowledge on how to effectively respond to and extinguish fires within the
surface and underground operations. While the training for the two units are delivered concurrently, each Unit of Competency is assessed as a discrete unit. The pre-requisite unit is assessed sequentially

The course will be conducted over 3 days.

Pre-requisite PUAFIR207 Operate breathing apparatus open circuit (must be completed before a Statement of Attainment can be issued)
Pre-requisite HLTAID003 Provide first aid (must be completed before a Statement of Attainment can be issued)
Pre-requisite PUAFIR203 Respond to urban fire (this will be attained during the course)

Each successful participant will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for:
PUAFIR302 Suppress Urban Fire
PUAFIR203 Respond to Urban Fire

Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards.

Students must wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and steel cap boots.

If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit.
