| Description | The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the necessary skills and practical knowledge on how to effectively respond to and extinguish fires within the surface and underground operations.Participants will gain the necessary skills and knowledge which will allow them to respond and suppress fire emergencies including how to determine extinguishing media and equipment, determine fire behaviour, how to conduct search and rescue, etc. |

| Entry Requirements | Pre-requisite PUAFIR207 Operate breathing apparatus open circuit (must be completed before a Statement of Attainment can be issued) |

| Qualification Requirements | Each successful participant will be issued a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for: |

| Delivery Mode | Face to face and practical hands-on training conducted by an experienced Emergency Services instructor with strong knowledge of relevant legislation and Australian Standards. |

| Materials or Equipment Required | Students must wear long pants, long sleeve shirts and steel cap boots. |
||||
| Notes | If you are a new or continuing student undertaking nationally recognised training, you need a USI in order to receive your qualification or statement of attainment for this unit. |
